The seamless transition into a suspenseful and action packed story made it even better and showed the author’s range.

Even when the story started off as a light tale, the detail and emotion were present. The writing was fabulous and left me eager to try more books. I hadn’t read a book by this author prior to Snowblind. Though the connection is a bit of a whirlwind, it never felt disingenuous and the couple did feel like a good match. Given their start as a couple stuck in a cabin, this is romance steeped in lust and instalove but it worked within the confines of the story. Their interactions were sexy and fun, and I was completely engaged in their story immediately. A closed off suspicious hero paired with a man who appears to be upbeat and an open book. The characters and dialogue in Snowblind were fantastic. In fact, I was listening to a “suspense” audiobook at the same time I read this novel, and I kept turning that off to go back to this story. The tone maintains a sense of urgency once the full plot unfolds and I couldn’t read fast enough. The actions scenes are intense, detailed but concise. Unfortunately, to avoid spoilers, that’s the most insight I can give. I didn’t anticipate the turns it took, and was pleasantly surprised at how complex a seemingly simple plot turned rather quickly. We find out there is much more to his story. From the outset Hutch is paranoid and there are plenty of insights that there is more to his story. Jude wandered away from the chalet where he’s vacationing and ended up on Hutch’s property. It started out with two men, Hutch and Jude, stuck in Hutch’s cabin during a snowstorm.

Before the 30% mark, things took an unexpected direction and suddenly I got an action packed story on top of the sexiness and interesting characters.

This is the first I’ve read from the Dreamspun Desires series, so I wasn’t quite sure what I would get but I expected it to be mostly easy going and predictable to some degree. When I first started this book, I was delighted to get a sexy, fast-paced romance. But is Jude what he claims to be? Or is he entangled in the secrets Hutch moved to Alaska to escape? By the time the storm clears, Hutch finds himself a little too attached to Jude Devereaux, San Francisco-based male model. Two gay men snowed in for three days-things happen. The problem is Jude isn’t just gorgeous, he’s funny and smart and flirtatious. But Hutch is a suspicious SOB and treats his unwanted guest warily. Jude says he’s in the area for a ski trip and that he fled a domineering lover, thinking he could make it into town. The latest snowstorm carries something unexpected to the doorstep of Hutch’s secluded Alaskan cabin: a stranger named Jude, the most beautiful man Hutch has ever seen.
